What is March Madness Over Under Betting:

For those who just need to refresh their memory on over under betting, we have provided an example below.

Game Total or Over Under Betting is where you are given a line, which represents the total score of both teams combined, which you can bet on the game to go over or under that set number.

A Game Total Line would look something like this:

Game Total - 171.5

Over 171.5
Under 171.5

In this example odds makers have set the total to 171.5. You now have the option to bet on that game going over or under 171.5.

If you were to place a bet on the game going over the number you would need the combined scores to add up to 172 or higher in order to win your bet.

If you were to place a bet on the game going under the set number you would need the two teams to combine for a score 171 or lower.

The odds for over under betting are almost always equal for either over or under, as the oddsmakers set the line at what they think the exact score will finish at. You will most often see the odds set at -110 for game total betting.
