March Madness Prop Predictions

Prop Betting is the short form for Proposition Betting, which is betting on the outcome of something other than the main outcome of the game (money line, spread, or game total). An example of a prop would be betting on who will score the first basket, get the first foul, or win the opening tip to start the game.

Prop betting is not always offered for all games, and is the most common in big games, such as the March Madness NCAA College Basketball Championship. The most common game for prop betting is not in basketball, but is the NFL Super Bowl. A ridiculous amount of prop betting goes on at the various Vegas and online sportsbooks for the big game, including the popular Coin Toss result prop bet.

As March Madness prop bets are posted we will update this page with our March Madness Prop Predictions, but until the tournament begins there probably won't be any betting odds listed on anything. Bookmark this page and check back for our predictions.

Favorite Prop Predictions:

When the March Madness tournament is all set to go the sportsbooks will start posting different March Madness prop betting lines. Until then we won't be able to give out any predictions, but when they are up we will post our favorite March Madness prop predictions here.

How To Read March Madness Prop Betting Odds:

People who are new to March Madness betting, or sports betting in general, may be a little confused with reading the different lines put out for March Madness prop bets. Below we will give to different examples of prop bets you may find, and how to read and understand them.

Highest Scoring Quarter By Either Team:

Over 20.5 (-110)
Under 20.5 (-110)

In this first example the prop bet is asking you if you think the highest points scored in any quarter of the game will be higher or lower than the set 20.5 number given. If you think that a team will score 21 or more points in any given quarter throughout the game you would place a bet on the over. If you don't think any team will reach 21 points in one quarter you would place your wager on the under. The number in brackets represents the betting odds (if you don't understand betting odds you can read our March Madness Odds resource that explains how to read them).

Who Will Score More Points:

Sherron Collins (+120)
John Wall (-140)

In this example the March Madness prop is simply asking you which player you think will score more points overall in the game. Because oddsmakers think that one player will score more points than the other player the odds will reflect that (in this case John Wall is the favorite to win the prop bet). If you thought Sherron Collins was going to score more points you would select him, and it you thought John Wall was going to score more points you would select him.

Overall March Madness Prop Betting is pretty easy to understand, and you may be amazed of the different type of prop bets that are offered for the games (especially the March Madness Finals). We are focused on being the best March Madness Prop Predictions resource out there, so check back during the tournament!
